'NYC Prep's' privileged Mulberry Bags posse can spot a good deal

Big apple (AP) — They carry "it" bags rather then backpacks, consider shopping a social sport which enables it to burn through mom and dad's money, though the high-school girls of "NYC Prep" may spot a great deal.

The "privileged prepsters," as they're tagged by their reality-show bosses on Bravo TV, were challenged to craft a fancy dress for just $100 that they'd be just like pleased to wear his or her designer duds. So, Camille, Kelli and Taylor hit H&M — and they also all came in under budget.

These girls are retail pros, fanning call at very busy Herald Square store in Midtown, honing in on trendy boyfriend shirts and jackets, pencil mini skirts and leggings, circling returning to the other only once they wanted an additional opinion. They arrived in the dressing room with far fewer items than you are likely to expect from teenagers, they determine what they like:

— Camille's favorite thing, absolutely, is handbags.

She says she's got about 12 in her own current rotation, including a Mulberry and the navy Kooba she carried in the recent H&M spree. One of them is a Zac Posen that was a present. "That had been like my whole birthday in a bag."

She seems to be choosy, utilizing the longest on the three girls to settle right dressing room. Prior to that far, she put back a black pencil skirt, nude-colored dress and sleeveless blouse that Taylor also was going to try on.

"I like shopping, but I'm picky. I'll be the one that takes 25 things right fitting room and get one thing."

It assists, 17-year-old Camille says, that at her all-girl school, everyone wears a uniform. "It will require 30 seconds to arrange. I wear the same polo shirts on the eighth grade — I get a big drawer stuffed with them."

On weekends along with summer months, however, she goes full-scale. "I am a dress-up girl, and not a girlie girl .Discount Mulberry Handbags. I enjoy wear a girlie dress which has a leather jacket," she says, or shorts or possibly a mini associated with chunky beaded high heel dress shoes in the nude color, which she wore on this day.

Although she likes to shop with friends, all purchases are designed together with her mother's approval. Mom, she explains, sends her out having a debit card which has a certain quantity of greenbacks thereon, or Camille will put items on hold in a store until her mom is beneficial into your market.

Her total at H&M? $79.60, including a hot-pink cardigan ($16.90), a navy, zip-front skirt ($39.90), an army tank top ($9.90) and also a silver chain necklace ($12.90).

It is a look suitable for a late lunch — or shopping, she suggests. "I'd personally wear this whether it is still light out when I'm leaving home but realize it will likely be dark out later."

— Kelli is definitely an aspiring singer and she's got the rocker-chick look down, especially the fringe suede vest that she arrives wearing with skinny jeans .Mulberry Sale. She acknowledges, though, that she doesn't wear the vest often because "it's away from my comfort zone."

When she heads towards the racks, there is a beeline for micro-length shorts plus a boyfriend-style cardigan. She'd definitely wear a lengthy, draped scarf — certainly one of her signature items, she explains.

She is a die-hard beach lover so she gravitates toward summery styles and finds it harder to build outfits that actually capture her personality when it's cooler outside. (The exception was last fall's trendy moccasin boots.)

Her favorite part of her $87.60 H&M outfit will be the faux-coral cuff bracelet ($9.90). All of those other ensemble were the shorts ($39.90), scarf ($12.90) plus a button-down shirt ($24.90). It took her under fifteen minutes to pick out this look and don't give up.

She did make a brief stop and check out some black platform sandals but eventually passed.

It seemed Kelli's favorite part of the shopping experience was a student in the accessories section, though she also got a great chuckle inside lingerie department looking at a few of the more over-the-top numbers in candy colors and lace.

For two summers, Kelli, 17, worked for a SoHo boutique but she prefers the shopping in West Hampton. The SoHo job helped spend on some of her clothes, but she usually uses her credit line with her parents.

She likes shopping using them.

"Last time I went shopping, it turned out with my dad. I trust their opinions most," she says. He's convinced her to obtain the fringe vest.

— Taylor, 16, emphasizes comfort, but she's also one who can pull off gold lame leggings, not a problem .Mulberry Bags.

The leggings cost $24.90 and so are the main element piece from where she'll build most of her outfit. "I wear leggings four or five days per week. I do not have gold leggings yet, but I'm on the verge of."

She adds, "I enjoy shop when I am not saying searching for something. ... I purchase what I like and determine later things i can wear it with, where I could put it on."

She wears jeans only on rainy days but will occasionally wear a dress. "I've got a many things inside my closet I can't wear," she declares.

Taylor says she's not really a marathon shopper, hitting the retail routes along the way home from practice about 10 times a month for small purchases — say, two shirts — rather than buying lots at once. Her shopping partner is frequently her mother. Taylor says they have got similar taste and relish the time together. "She won't ok , i'll wear ridiculous outfits. That's probably for my very own good."

Her spending allowance is generous, but mom won't OK a $500 shirt. Taylor still covets a $1,000 Dolce & Gabbana gold jacket that her mom squeeze kibosh on.

Taylor has a plan, though: "I'll pip out myself, using money I've saved from my mom."

She proves she will be frugal when she ought to be — her H&M bill for just two bracelets ($6.90 each), a cardigan sweater ($19.90), tank ($5.90) as well as the leggings was $64.50, leaving her within striking distance on the dressier nude-colored sleeveless blouse that cost $35.90.

It will put her 40 cents beyond her limit but leave her with another outfit, further proof the trio of prepsters certainly could teach a class in savvy shopping.
